Subject	Pools of oil in the plenum?

Message	I was looking through the holes for the balance tube and noticed that I can see my own eye looking back at me. Turns out it is a roughly 1/4 inch deep pool of oil in both sides of the plenum (tested with a screw driver.) On the plus side, the oil looks very clean. :< Please help me with further diagnosis. I have relatively limited time to actually work on the car, and I HATE throwing parts at the wrong problem.
